Courant Electro

On the roadmap

What it runs on
Machines and low-frequency EM
What it decides
Torque, loss and flux in the gap
Cost of being wrong
A motor map that the dyno does not match

What it checksCriterion

  1. 01
    Air gap resolution

The one region where a coarse mesh changes the number, not the picture.

    elements across the gap
  2. 02
    Nonlinear material loop

Saturation solved to a tolerance, or stopped at an iteration count.

    B–H iteration converged
  3. 03
    Timestep against electrical period

Time resolution set by the mechanical rate, not the electrical one.

    steps per electrical cycle

These are criteria, not results. Nothing here has been measured — the product is not built.

What comes back

  • The cause, and the line of solver output it came from
  • The change, as a diff you can reverse
  • Physics checks, measured against their limits
  • A record somebody else can open on a link

Targets

  • FEMM (target)
  • Elmer (target)
  • Commercial EM adapters (planned)

Named as intent. No adapter for any of these exists today.

Standing

Not built. Named here because simulation teams that run flow and thermal usually run this too, and because the same evidence record is what their reviewers ask for. There is no adapter today.
